STAGE 3: ACTION 

- 12 November 2020: LIVE SHARING SESSION ON FACEBOOK 

During this session, we mainly talked about the topic which was assigned to us; “Requirements of A Valid Will Under Wills Act 1959”. The time allocated for this session is from 8pm to 9pm. One day before the event, our members have shared the link to our audiences for them to enter directly when the time comes. The first 10 minutes was rough because we just finished our Evidence's mid semester test at 8pm and we rushed to prepare for the event. We were also having difficulties in terms of the connections and devices. However, we managed to pull everything together and made the event a successful one.

- STREAMYARD & FACEBOOK 

The event was carried out by using Streamyard application as the main streaming studio. The speakers would enter the virtual meeting room through this application and carry out the live session using the features provided such as screen sharing. After all the speakers have got themselves ready in front of the screen, the session was simultaneously streamed to the Facebook event created under the Facebook page “Raising Awareness: Succession and Probate”.

 

- MODERATORS & SPEAKERS 

Throughout the live event, Xin Tian was acting as the moderator for sharing sessions while Jayasri was the moderator for Quizizz activity sessions. There are 6 speakers in total, namely Wan Jo, Nurriezlyn, Norfa’ain, Wei Ren, Jayasri, and Nurfarhin. We did not have the chance to call any lawyer to be our speaker, hence, we decided to conduct the sharing session ourselves. The event started with a welcoming speech from the moderator, following the first sharing session from the first three speakers.

 

- FIRST SESSION 

In the first sharing session, the speakers shared about the requirements of a valid will which are the age of majority of a testator; testator must be of sound mind; and the will must be made in writing, signed by the testator and 2 witnesses witnessing the process of testator making and signing the will. The speaker for this session was Norfa'ain, Nurriezlyn and Loo Wan Jo. After the first sharing session, an interactive activity was carried out to test the level of knowledge gained by the audiences through our speakers’ sharing. The audiences were invited to Quizizz website for a quick quiz. After the quiz, the questions were discussed to reiterate the main points of our topic to the audiences.

- SECOND SESSION

The sharing session resumed after the EXCITING activity. Another three of our speakers further explained to the audiences the requirements of a valid will, which includes the capacity of witnesses and beneficiary and the subject matter to be included in the will. The sharing session was followed by another Quizizz activity. The quiz questions were also discussed to enhance the knowledge learnt from the speakers’ sharing.

 

- QnA SESSION 

After the concluding statement made by our last speaker, we proceeded to a Question & Answer session where the audiences are welcomed to raise questions regarding the event’s topic. We got a very enthusiastic response from the audiences who imposed questions that enable us to discuss and understand further about the requirements of a valid will. The speakers then requested the audiences to fill up the feedback form to let us know what could be improved in the future events. The one-hour event went smoothly and ended well with the help of everyone who initiated and participated in it.
